A Will To Live tells the story of Holocaust survivor Helena Weinrauch, and features the playwright (played by Masha King in this production) as the sole actor on stage. This staging featured projections heavily; for the build, myself and my colleague Mike Berlant constructed a 12’x22′ upstage wall to catch most of the projections. The wall was finished with a layer of brick paneling, painted a pure white.
This was a simple build that needed to be executed cleanly, and I was grateful to have Mike’s help with the somewhat fussy brick paneling (I reused this paneling for my design of Simpatico).
